The Medvance Hydrocolloid Dressing with Foam Cushion is a flexible primary dressing ideal for lightly exuding wounds. It features a foam backing to give you a cushioning feeling, distribute the pressure on the dressing, and reduce the risk of skin breakdown and pain due to friction and pressure. The hydrocolloid foam dressing is thin and protective and can be used as a secondary dressing by covering it with a compression bandage. When in contact with wound exudate, the dressing produces a gel that provides a moist, healing wound environment. Special shapes are available for difficult-to-fit areas the heel and sacrum. The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel and European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel recommend using hydrocolloids to manage pressure ulcers, and this dressing is indispensable at managing stage I and II pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, superficial burns, superficial partial, thickness burns, donor sites, postoperative wounds, and skin abrasions.
