Medline NON25444 Avant 4 x 4 Inch Non-Woven Gauze Sponges 4 Ply are constructed from a rayon/polyester blend instead of traditional cotton. This blend has some advantages over cotton. It produces less lint, and is virtually non-adherent. The lack of adhesion makes these less traumatic for granulated wound areas that are fragile. Also, the rayon/polyester blend wicks moisture away from the wound faster. This in turn promotes a healthier healing environment.
In addition, this material blend is latex-free, so it can safely be used on people with allergies and sensitivities to latex. Avant Gauze Sponges are available in or configurations, too.
