The MEDIHONEY 2x2 Inch Alginate Wound Dressing is formulated with 95% active leptospermum (manuka) honey to support healing in moderately to heavily exudating wounds. The honey-infused calcium alginate base interacts with wound fluid to form a gel, helping maintain a moist healing environment that promotes autolytic debridement.
Its natural properties help draw out exudate and necrotic tissue, while the low pH and high osmolarity contribute to an environment that’s less favorable to bacterial growth. The dressing is non-adhesive, latex-free, and sterile for single-use application on shallow wound sites.
