MedHeal™ Foam Ag Antibacterial Dressing is a non-adherent and antimicrobial foam dressing. The Foam Ag has no polyurethane film layer. The Bordered Foam Ag has an impermeable polyurethane film layer, which acts as a liquid and bacteria barrier to prevent external contamination. This allows vapor and oxygen transfer to create a moist wound healing environment. The reticulated structure of the foam absorbs wound fluid upon contact to avoid wound maceration. The non-adherent foam allows atraumatic dressing removal to deliver optimal patient outcomes. In-vitro tests showed the incorporated silver provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against most common clinical pathogens associated with wound infections for up to 7 days, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
