MedHeal™ Bordered Silicone Foam Ag Antibacterial Dressingis a multi-layer antimicrobial wound care dressing. The outmost polyurethane film is impermeable to water and bacteria but allows vapor and oxygen transmission to create a breathable wound healing environment. The absorbent core can remove the infectious exudate from the wound bed upon contact to avoid wound maceration but maintain a moist environment to facilitate wound healing. The soft silicone adhesive allows atraumatic dressing removal to avoid secondary damage to the newly grown tissue and the peri-wound area to improve the clinical outcome. The ionic silver provides a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity against most common clinical pathogens associated with wound infection for up to 7 days, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonlae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
