This dressing is impregnated with polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), a substance known for its antibacterial properties. It effectively kills and inhibits the growth of a wide range of bacteria, including some multi-drug resistant strains like MRSA.
Its semi-occlusive design allows for superior aeration, enabling the exchange of gases such as oxygen and water vapor. The transparent, perforated wound contact layer helps absorb exudate while preventing excess fluid from causing maceration to healthy skin. This dressing is suitable for various wound types, including post-surgical incisions, pressure sores, venous stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, donor sites, abrasions, lacerations, first and second-degree burns, dermatologic disorders, and other trauma-induced wounds. It can also be used as a secondary or cover dressing for packed wounds.
