The Lunderg Fall Prevention Alarms for the Elderly are designed to stop falls by immediately alerting caregivers. There are two kit options to choose from. Both include a lightweight, pocket-sized pager that connects wirelessly to a Standard or Early-Alert sensor pad. The Standard sends an alert when weight is removed from the pad and the most advanced set is the Early-Alert system, which detects the process of standing up. The advanced set with Lunderg's patented Early-Alert alarm (UPC-LUN-EABEDKIT, UPC-LUN-UNDERBED-KIT) is the ONLY type of bed alarm that can sense the movement of standing up, alerting caregivers before patients can even get out of bed. This advanced sensor is designed to reduce false alarms that occur when the patient shifts or repositions.

Where do I place the sensor pads?
The sensor pads should be positioned on the mattress (under the fitted sheet) approximately where the patient's hips will be. The neck of the sensor pad should exit out the side of the bed, or towards the back of the chair.

Are the sensor pads waterproof?
No, the pad is designed to be incontinence-resistant but should not be relied upon as incontinence protection. However, an incontinence pad can be used in conjunction with the sensor pad.

Does the alarm turn off automatically?
No, it will need to be turned off manually by pressing the pager's STOP button.

How often do the sensor pads need to be replaced?
The Early-Alert bed pads have a lifespan of 15 months, and the Standard and Large bed pads have a lifespan of 12 months.

How much range does the monitor cover?
The monitor is designed to cover a range of 400 feet in an open space. Before using alarms with patients, test the alarm beforehand to determine its range in your home or facility, as certain materials and the number of walls can interfere with the signal.
