Hollister Advance Plus Closed System Intermittent Catheter uses integrated technology to help prevent urinary tract infections. The introducing tip keeps the catheter from touching any bacteria in the first fifteen millimeters of the distal urethra, which is thought to house the highest concentration of bacteria.
This catheter system also has a gel reservoir to help lubricate the catheter as it is inserted. If more lubricant is needed, gently squeeze the reservoir to release more into the lubricating area. The lubricating gel reduces friction in the urethra, allowing for a smooth, pain-free application.
In addition to the lubricating gel and protective tip, this catheter system is closed and goes directly into a 1500 ml bag. This bag is designed for single use. Once the catheter is used, there is a section of the bag designed to tear for easy disposal of the urine. It also has an oversized handle for better control and handling.
