The Gravity 8 Deluxe Long-Term Care Pressure Redistribution Mattress has multiple layers and has a heel slope at the foot of the mattress. Also, inside the mattress foot area are chambers. These chambers are created from channels cut out of the material so when weight is put on the bed the chamber walls flex and distribute the weight appropriately. The foot area also has a memory foam layer to allow the heel to stabilize so it will not move too much and irritate the skin.

Lying down on the mattress is a dream. The billowy softness is cloud-like, thanks to the science behind the design. The mattress layers have a die-cut pattern to optimize zone pressure redistribution so as to not put shear forces on the skin. The bottom layer of this foam mattress has grooves cut horizontally into the foam. This design feature will allow the mattress to flex and articulate and ultimately extend the product's overall life.

The foam is completely enveloped by a cover. The cover material is fire retardant, fluid proof, tear-resistant, low shear, and easy to clean. On the bottom is a waterproof vinyl to protect it from fluid.
