The GentleCath Air is a single-use, hydrophilic urinary catheter in a 16 inch male length that provides an intermittent drainage pathway from the bladder. It is supplied with sterile water in the package so the catheter surface can be wetted immediately before use. A no-touch sleeve allows users or caregivers to guide the catheter without directly handling the tube surface, supporting clean technique in everyday settings.
The GentleCath Air catheter is available with straight or coude tips to match individual anatomy. French sizes from 8 to 18 are indicated on a color-coded funnel, which can attach to urine collection bags when a bag is recommended. The device is not designed for irrigation or instillation.
After one bladder drainage is complete, the catheter must be discarded, even if used only briefly. As part of a prescribed intermittent catheterization schedule, multiple new units may be used per day in professional healthcare facilities, private homes, workplaces, or public restrooms. Users and caregivers should follow all handwashing, preparation, insertion, and disposal steps in the product’s instructions for use.
