Overview
The eWheels EW-M45 Folding Electric Wheelchair folds in half to make transporting easy for individuals on the go. In just a few steps, the wheelchair completely folds in half and locks in place so it can be towed behind like luggage on wheels. Its lightweight frame is durable to support up to 400 pounds but weighs in at only 59 pounds to aid portability for loading it in one piece. This eliminates using an expensive vehicle lift or having to disassemble the wheelchair in several parts to stow and load when traveling.
Portability is a key attraction. However, eWheels Medical designed this chair to maneuver well in the house or outdoors, with a tight 31-inch turning radius. This specialized motorized wheelchair doesn't lack comfort and performance. The eWheel M45 Power Wheelchair comes with a 19-inch foam seat cushion that's soft, wide and roomy. The cover removes to clean and maintain. Limbs are supported with padded armrests and a large platform to support and rest the feet.
Maneuvering the power wheelchair is possible with the controller joystick that sits at the end of the armrest to control the speed of acceleration and direction with the assurance that the safety electromagnetic braking system will automatically slow down when the joystick is in neutral. The joystick has a battery light indicator to show green when adequately charged and a red light when it's time to charge. The charge port is conveniently located in the joystick. Should the EW M45 lose power, the FreeWheel mode allows a caregiver to comfortably push the wheelchair.
In terms of performance, the EW-M45 Lightweight Motorized Wheelchair will cruise at a top speed of 3.7 mph, depending on terrain. The flat-free tires minimize maintenance and provide peace of mind that there will never be a tire blowout when away from home. It comes with two 12 Volt 6 Amp lithium batteries to extend a long cruising range of 15.5 miles, which is double the range of most electric wheelchairs. eWheels Medical recommends to fully deplete the batteries before recharging to get the most battery life after each charge. This battery type also meets FAA battery regulations when flying on an airplane.

Battery Care and Charging Instructions
- Batteries will arrive fully charged. Fully deplete battery before charging to extend battery life.
- Plug AC adapter into the controller port and turn the power on to charge battery. The color indicator orange indicates it is charging.
- Charge daily for two to eight hours, but no more than eight hours. The green light will indicate when batteries are fully charged.
