Manual Sit to Stand Lift (STSM450) has a spreader bar that spreads the base open manually, while Power Sit to Stand Lift (STSP450) utilizes a hand control to operate a motor that spreads the base electronically. This is the only difference between the two devices, with the rest of the features being the same across the board.

Ideally, this should only be for a short distance for optimal patient safety. This lift is intended for individuals at home or when cared for in a hospital and institutional setting.
