What is the Drive Premium Guard Gel Overlay?
The Drive Premium Guard Gel Overlay is a gel and foam Mattress Topper for pressure redistribution. Such pressure redistribution helps prevent pressure ulcers and sores. This overlay is embedded with a non-toxic, aqueous gel that spans the entire patient contact area for full head-to-toe coverage. Polystyrene beads limit gel migration and displacement, which keeps the gel evenly distributed and prevents the overlay from pitting and bottoming out. This mattress topper features an all-new convoluted foam topper improves air circulation and increases user comfort. In addition to these benefits, this Drive Medical gel overlay includes four corner straps so users don't have to deal with annoying slipping and sliding and to increase patient safety. Finally, this item's cover is made out of urethane-coated nylon. This means the cover is both water-resistant and vapor-permeable. Underneath this nylon cover is a waterproof vinyl bottom. Both the waterproof vinyl and nylon cover protect the Premium Guard gel foam overlay from spills and damage so your overlay will last for years to come.
Two sizes of the Drive Premium Guard Gel Overlay are available. While the standard Drive Premium Guard Gel Overlay (14893) can withstand up to up to 300 pounds, the Bariatric Drive Gel Mattress Overlay (14901) is designed for higher-weight patients. This Bariatric Mattress topper has a weight capacity of up to 500 pounds.

Drive Premium Guard Gel Overlay Maintenance Guidelines
Hand Cleaning Instructions
- Dampen a cloth with warm water
- Gather a mild detergent
- Use the damp cloth and detergent to wipe down the Drive Medical Gel Overlay
- Users may clean the cover with approved intermediate level disinfectants (according to cover material)
- Air-Dry the overlay cover before putting back on your overlay
Machine Washing Instructions
- Wash in a washing machine according to facility policy and up to 95° temperature
- Air-Dry the overlay cover before putting back on the overlay
- Never iron, bleach, or machine dry the urethane coated nylon cover
Cleaning Warning
- This overlay and its bedding must be cleaned and sanitized regularly and between patients to prevent the spread of infectious disease
- Cleaning with the patient on the bed is not recommended
- Bodily fluids should be cleaned immediately
- Protective clothing should be worn while cleaning this overlay
- Dilute cleaning materials according to the cleaning product's manufacturer's instructions
- Follow your facility's infection control guidelines to clean this overlay
- Never unzip the overlay over when cleaning the Drive Medical Gel Overlay
Safety Information
- Do not iron the urethane coated nylon cover
- Do not bleach the urethane coated nylon cover
- Inspect this overlay for wear and tears at least every three months. Remove this overlay from service and replace any damaged parts as soon as damage is found
- Never unzip the overlay cover when the overlay is in use

Drive Premium Guard Gel Foam Overlay Warranty
Both the foam and cover come with an 18-month warranties. This warranty is only valid for the original purchases/users of the Drive Premium Guard Gel Overlay. This warranty does not include any accumulated shipping or labor charges.
Warranties are automatically void under the following circumstances:
- The serial number is defaced or removed
- The Drive Premium Guard Gel Foam Overlay is damaged due to improper maintenance, operation, or storage
- The item is damaged due to carelessness, accident, or negligence
- The item is damaged due to alteration or tampering
- The item is damaged because cleaning instructions were not followed
