It contains a specialized balance of protein, fats and carbohydrates to stabilize blood sugar to meet the nutritional needs of individuals with diabetes, glucose intolerance, and stress-induced hyperglycemia.
This unique diabetic formula by Nestle, is nutrient rich, made with pureed fruits and vegetables. Diabetisource AC nutrition information also contains healthy omega-3 fatty acids to meet the ADA dietary recommendation. Wheat dextrin and fructo-oligosaccarides is added to Diabetisource AC to support good digestive health. In addition, key nutrients chromium, vitamin C and vitamin E are supplemented to improve insulin sensitivity. L-arginine is added for its properties known to help reduce diabetes-associated tissue damage and therefore support wound management. This formula does not contain any sugar alcohol. It also supports gluten-free, kosher and lactose-free diets.
Nestle offers unflavored Diabetisource AC in 250 mL tetra cartons for tube feeding and/or oral consumption. The 1000 and 1500 mL closed tube-feeding containers have the SpikeRight PLUS design with the enteral-specific port for closed tube-feeding to reduce the risk of IV misconnection.
