Dexcom G6 CGM System - Transmitter, Receiver, Sensor

The Dexcom G6 Transmitter is the latest generation from Dexcom to assist with continuous glucose monitoring. Users find freedom in using a CGM system because it acts as an artificial pancreas, thus eliminating manual insulin injections. The transmitter is one of three parts for CGM, it has the responsibility of sending information to the diabetes insulin pump to release the amount of basal insulin the body needs. The transmitter is affixed to a G6 Sensor that's implanted into the skin in order for the transmitter to gather information. The sensor is usually placed where there is less movement such as the abdomen or back of the arm. Every five minutes, the Dexcom G6 Transmitter sends the information wirelessly to compatible receivers which include choosing either the Dexcom G6 GCM or the Tandem t:slim X2. This eliminates the need for fingersticks and most importantly, it prevents user from having roller coaster glucose highs and lows based on the threshold programmed by each user.

The Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring G6 Transmitter will ONLY work the same generation sensor and therefore this transmitter must be used with the Dexcom G6 Sensor. The transmitter has a 3-month lifespan, starting from the day it's connected to sensor. A fully charged transmitter will power a sensor for a maximum of 10 days but does have a low battery indicator.
