The mounting stands and uteri are separate and removable, and the four largest fetuses, 3rd through 7th month, can be removed from their uteri.

In addition to the normal development models, this 38 Scientific plastic ob/gyn series model series includes a 4th and 5th Month Fetus in transverse Lie (sideways position). In this position, the baby head is positioned to the side and the bottom across the abdomen. This position is considered normal before development reaches 26 weeks, but by 30 weeks, healthcare professionals expect babies to be head down or breech. The series also includes a 5th Month Fetus in Breech Position. With the head moving closer to the birth canal, most babies reposition toward delivery position within the weeks leading up to birth; however in breech position, this natural movement can be obstructed for various reasons which can result in lower end of the baby positioned to be delivered first.
