Cutimed Epiona Collagen Alginate Dressing is a native collagen dressing that aims to jump start healing on stalled or chronic wounds. These dressings are ninety percent bovine collagen, which is near identical to human collagen, and ten percent calcium alginate. The alginate helps create a better healing environment for the wound by absorbing exudate, bacteria, and other debris. This dressing promotes tissue granulation and epithelialization as well for improved healing.

The Jobst Cutimed Epiona dressings also use a unique 3D Matrix Technology to create a scaffold for the cells that are needed to repair the wound. This scaffold creates a support structure in the wound that the cells can attach to and begin rapid tissue regeneration while reducing the breakdown from inflammatory cells.

In addition to creating a healthy healing environment, the dressing is reabsorbed as the wound heals. These dressings are ideal for chronic and deep wounds such as pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, second degree burns, abrasions.
