The filter fabric material is pleated and medically treated to inactivate 99.99 percent of tested influenza viruses within 5 minutes of contact. It is also tested on seasonal flu viruses, Pandemic H1N1 viruses, Avian influenza strains, Swine influenza strains, and Equine flu viruses. The mask includes two layers of material. The material is coated with different compounds that inactivate influenza viruses. And due to the nature of the material used and its ability to absorb aerosol droplets, influenza A and B viruses are wicked away from the outer surface. The outer layer is made with a low PH compound to effectively inactivate viruses.
