The AQUACEL® Hydrofiber Ribbon Dressing 420127 with Strengthening Fiber by ConvaTec is an absorbent primary wound care dressing. The ribbon design is ideal for tunneling wounds and cavities with moderate to high amounts of wound exudate. The flat ribbon packs nicely and, as its Hydrofiber absorbs wound exudate, it expands and conforms to the wound bed. This adds to patient comfort, as contact with the wound bed has been shown to reduce pain.
AQUACEL® Hydrofiber Ribbon creates a moist wound environment, which is ideal for faster healing. The absorption of bacteria and exudate also reduces the risk of maceration.
When packing the wound, only fill the cavity up to 80 percent capacity to allow for the ribbon to expand. Always make sure to leave an inch above the surface to provide access to the ribbon for dressing removal.
