The ConvaTec AQUACEL® Hydrofiber Ribbon Dressing with Strengthening Fiber 403770 is an excellent primary wound care dressing. This rope design allows easy packing of cavities and tunneling wounds. The flat ribbon is made with Hydrofiber, which has excellent absorption for moderate to highly exuding wounds. As it absorbs wound exudate and biofilm, the ribbon expands in size, creating a soft gel that gently conforms to the wound bed. This contact helps reduce wound pain while promoting ideal healing conditions. The ribbon's ability to remove exudate and biofilm reduces the risk of maceration and creates a moist wound healing environment.
It is recommended to pack the wound only up to 80 percent capacity to allow for expansion. After packing the wound, leave an inch above the surface to provide access to the ribbon for easier removal.
