Barrier Strip Overview
Coloplast Brava Elastic Barrier Strips, Curved and Y-shape are designed to protect the skin around the barrier of a stoma created by ostomy surgery a life-saving procedure that changes the way urine and stool exit the body. Brava Barrier strips are constructed with elastic technology, which allows them to easily follow the contours of the body. Because they are incredibly flexible, you can easily bend and stretch, which adds a level of confidence to daily activities. The Coloplast skincare science used to develop Brava Elastic Barrier Strips makes them highly durable and flexible, which minimizes potential roll-up and provides longer wear times. Brava Curved features thinner edges that allow the strips and barrier to remain smooth against the skin, while the Brava Y-shape has a wider strip, ideal for outward areas such as a hernia.
The Curved-shape (120700) measures 5-1/2 x 1-1/4 inches, latex-free, and perfect for those with tape allergies. One or two strips may be used, depending on where and how much added security is required. They are easy to apply -- simply stick the strips around the edges of the barrier (similar to a picture frame), and continue daily activities knowing the ostomy barrier is protected.
The Y-shape (120721) measures 5-3/4 inches, is latex-free and features wider strips, ideal for those with protruding areas, such as a hernia. This skin-friendly tape alternative offers extra security and support to keep the barrier firmly in place with minimal rolling or lifting of the edges.
