Overview The BD Vacutainer Urine Collection System is a complete kit that includes specimen cups, transfer tubes, and transfer straws to facilitate the process of collecting and sampling urine from patients and helping ease the process of handling the specimens from start to finish of the testing process. With many tools available, selecting the right equipment to get the job done safely is one less worry. The BD Vacutainer Tube is an optionally coated tube that can hold the urine sample and chemically keep the composition of urine acidity. These tubes are also offered non-coated to preserve the purity of the specimen at the highest level. When samples are kept in refrigeration, a lot of them can hold urine specimens in a suspended state for safe and prolonged storage. The sterile collection of the BD Vacutainer Urine Cup Kit reduces possible contamination from bacteria that may come into contact with the specimen through airborne particles or by touch -- keeping it sterile until ready to use. The BD Transfer Straw dips into the specimen container without the need to remove the lid from the cup. The straw is inserted and the urine collection tube is attached over the straw to draw the urine and fill the tube. This method eliminates the risk of staff coming into contact with the urine specimen and only collects what is needed. Once the tube has been filled, the patient's information can be written on the attached label so that it may be properly stored.
