The BD Integra 3 mL Syringe with Detachable Needle is great for the proper use of administrating medication to the patient. The syringe is made with a color indicated tip for correctly selecting the right tool for the job. The hypodermic needle is of 25-gauge and easily enters the flesh of the patient with no resistance from the needle or scar tissue.
Sanitation and properly disinfecting the area is a must before you make an entry, just because the needled is provided sterile does not mean the proper steps should be avoided to protect the patient from bacteria. Made of a hard, stainless steel material, the syringe is preventive to accidents that can cause the needle to bend, which can be uncomfortable to the patient; leaving bruises. The detachable needle can be tossed away in a hazardous medical waste container such as a sharps container - taking up less space in the sharps containers.
The syringes can hold up to 3 milliliters of medication with minimal waste space (only .026 waste space), reducing waste space is important when administering the right dosage. Improperly prepping the syringe can result in medication being left in the syringe. That large printed measuring on the outside of the syringe means you will always be able to clearly see the proper dosage amount.
