ICU Medical Bag Spike CSTD with Clave Additive Port and Dry Spike Adapter

The ICU Medical Bag Spike with Clave Additive Connector and Dry Spike is used to puncture IV bags in order to use the solution or medication inside. The spike is long enough to penetrate through most any standard IV bag with no extensions needed. The spike can be fully discarded as it is made of safe recycle material.

The ICU Medical Ch-12 Bag Spike CSTD with clave connector and Dry Spike has a dry spike in order to penetrate entryways will little resistant. Once connected you can attach the adapter to the IV line to start the administrating session. You will clearly notice the blue tip to the side of the spike, this is the Clave Additive Port, the port is used when the additional administration of medicine or solutions is required. The Clave port can also be used when mixing medication is needed, while administering from the IV bag, you will be able to attach a syringe to the adapter to mix in the additional medicine. Once the adapter has been used, it can be discarded, do not keep using the same spike adapter as this may result in contamination.

Before puncturing an iv bag, always clean the spike with a wipe such as the Medi-Pak Alcohol Prep Pad Wipes to sanitize the spike before making the connection.
