The Austin Air filter is designed to last up to five years under normal residential use. It has a five-year prorated warranty that provides a discount on the purchase of a replacement filter based on the length of time the filter was used. If the Austin Air Healthmate Purifier is used in rooms with unusually high concentrations of tobacco smoke, soot, chemical vapors or odors, etc., the filter will need to be replaced more often.
