FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

  1. Can I use this under my compression bandage? Yes, however, it is important to choose the correct secondary dressing for the exudate level the wound is producing.
  2. Do honey dressings increase exudate? Yes, it is normal to see increased exudate when using a honey dressing. It is important to consider a secondary dressing that is designed for a higher exudate level.
  3. Can this be folded to fit in a wound cavity? Yes, but it is recommended to make sure the dressing touches the entire wound bed. If it does not, consider using the Activon Medical Grade Manuka Honey Tube instead.
  4. Can it be unfolded to apply to a larger surface? Yes, however, it would reduce the effectiveness of the dressing.
  5. How long can a honey dressing be left in place? This could vary based on the exudate of the wound. As long as the dressing remains the same color it can be left on the wound, but not for a period of longer than seven days.
