Abena Sterile ABD Pads

Abena Abdominal Pads (also known as ABD Pads) are not designed for the abdominal area, but for any wound with heavy exudate. The highly absorbent gauze pad is mostly used as a secondary dressing to help absorb excess fluid as it drains. The cellulose core is able to lock away liquids, keeping the wound clean and reduce the risk of infection. The non-woven outer layer does not contain any adhesive and will need to be secured with tape or other method to keep it in place.

The Abena ABD Dressing Pad does not contain any latex to reduce irritation and increase the comfort of the user. To further reduce the risk of irritation and infection, the dressing comes fully sterile, protecting against bacterial infection. The Abena ABD Gauze comes in three different sizes, all rectangular in shape, to cover a variety of wounds. No matter the needed size, the dressing comes with a blue guideline in order to help properly align the dressing as needed on the wound site.
