The Drive LS9500 10 Inch Lateral Rotation Mattress with on Demand Low Air Loss uses a unique Turn-Style or rotation system used for pulmonary therapy for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. It comes with a control unit that inflates the overly to provide variable low air loss and lateral rotation in one system. Just like an alternating pressure air mattress system, the Lateral Rotation also encourages blood flow and mucosal drainage but uses turning cycles in addition to low air loss to keep the patient cool and dry.
The technology around the LS9500 Lateral Rotation Mattress system begins with 20 individual high split-air cells that are 8 inches in height. It's placed over a 2-inch foam base for security during a power outage. It's surround by two 10-inch high side bolsters creating a safe perimeter. The pump and its control settings are user-friendly. The turning cycles are customizable at 10, 20, 30 or 60-minute cycles. The pump also allows for custom turning settings. It will turn a patient one quarter, one half, three quarters and a full position turn up to 40 degrees. The machine comes with continuous feedback sensor technology to equalize pressure and maximize patient comfort. The 10 comfort levels, adjustable turning cycles, and maximum turn angles create a dynamic therapy to add comfort and pressure relief. When the patient needs to be transferred, the Auto-Firm Mode creates firm inflation making it easier for caregivers.
