Profore Wound Contact Layer (WCL) is indicated to act as a non-adherent interface between the granulating wound surface and conventional absorbent dressings. It can also be used in conjunction with Profore, Profore LF and Profore Lite, the Multi-layer Compression Bandage Systems.

Profore Wound Contact Layer provides physical separation between the wound and external environments to assist in preventing bacterial contamination of the wound. Profore WCL aids in the creation and maintenance of a moist wound environment. Moist wound environments have been established as optimal environments for the management of the wound.

I do not want to sound like a promoter but the advantages of Smith & Nephew Profore Wound Contact Layer are too good to go unnoticed. They are absolutely non-adherent and non-adhesive which makes them a good choice for usage around wounds in sensitive body parts. Being highly porous, these wound contact layer prevents exudate pooling and improves comfort level of the patient. In short, it is cost-effective and the best.
