Opsite wound dressings are manufactured by Smith and Nephew, a leading manufacturer of Wound Care Products. Opsite has five separate bandage options to fit the needs of the wound area: Standard, IV3000, Flexifix, Flexigrid, Incise Drapes and the Post-Op Transparent Dressing.

Opsite Transparent Dressings: Product Explanations and Characteristics

Below are detailed descriptions of each type of opsite dressing. You can learn about the features, benefits, applications and specifications to make sure you are buying the correct opsite dressing as well as making the buying process much easier.

Opsite Standard Dressing

Opsite Standard Transparent Dressing

Opsite Standard is a see-through, adhesive film, allowing patients and caregivers to monitor the wound and the healing process without changing the dressing as frequently. The film is vapor permeable, conformable and extensible. Opsite Transparent Waterproof Film is widely used to provide a moist wound environment for superficial wounds. Opsite film dressings are also ideal for use as a secondary dressing.

Opsite Standard Features and Benefits

  • Superior film with acrylic adhesive is highly extensible and conformable, which combined with its moisture vapor permeability, means the dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days. This minimizes interference at the wound site and reduces the amount of nursing time required.
  • Waterproof film is resistant to water and body fluids, allowing the patient to bathe without changing dressings. It also aids in the prevention of bacterial contamination.
  • Simple, effective application technique
  • Adaptable to awkward areas designed to be adaptable for use on all areas of the body. It can be easily cut into strips or shapes for application to awkward areas such as heels, elbows and knees.

Applications

  • Superficial wounds, such as shallow pressure sores, minor burns, cuts and abrasions.
  • Use as a secondary dressing, for example over Intrasite Gel Amorphous Hydrogel Dressing or Allevyn Cavity Wound Dressing.
  • To provide catheter fixation.

Specifications

  • Width Options: 4 to 17 34 Inches.
  • Length Options: 5 12 to 21 58 Inches.
  • HCPCS codes: A6258, A6259.

Opsite IV3000 Dressing

Opsite IV3000 provides a range of IV dressings designed to meet the demands of modern IV site care. These specialized dressings can be applied to difficult areas of the body to secure catheters, IV’s, tubes, and other medical instruments. The transparency of the dressing allows caregivers to monitor the insertion site. The IV3000 is waterproof and allows patients to shower with the dressing in position. The IV3000 comes in three different options to fit the application required by the patient.

  1. IV3000 1-Hand for non ported peripheral catheters and central applications, the IV3000 1-Hand comes with fixation and documentation label. It prevents skin maceration or irritation to provide greater patient comfort.
  2. IV3000 Reinforced handle for central/jugular and central/epidural applications with 2 fixation strips and a documentation label.
  3. IV3000 Frame Delivery for peripheral applications allows the dressing to be positioned accurately over the catheter providing quick, easy, aseptic application. IV3000 Frame Delivery provides greater fixation, strength and security with the inclusion of two integral securing strips and a documentation label. The adhesive utilizes a unique pattern spread for comfort and ease of removal.

IV 3000 Features and Benefits

  • The film acts as a barrier to bacteria including Methicillin-Resistant Staphyloccus Aureus (MRSA).
  • High MVTR (typically 11,000g/m2 minimum per 24hrs at 37°C).
  • Reduces risk of infection by preventing moisture accumulation.

Opsite Film

Opsite Film is a transparent film designed to help wounds heal. As a primary dressing it is breathable, flexible and waterproof. This film is waterproof too, allowing the patient to bathe with no worries.

Also, the film can be used as a secondary dressing to add protection and further prevent infection.

This film dressing may also be referred to as an incise drape.

Affordable!!
Hi, I'm a Type 1 Diabetic who has a insulin pump that uses the Flexigrid dressings. It enables me to bathe and shower without changing my pump site everyday. The usual price is $129.99, and I couldn't afford it. Thanks to Vitality Medical for selling a much needed product well within my reach. I look forward to our consumer relationship!
