The 5 Qt. SharpSafety Safety In Room Sharps Container with (Covidien 8507SA) or without (Covidien 8506SA) an optional Counterbalance Lid is a safe, secure, effective container for disposing of medical-grade items. Given its many uses, a container that stores items in a safe manner that also closes securely is important for medical office use.

The 5 Quart SharpSafety in-Room Container with Counterbalance Lid is a great-working, tightly secured storage container that's able to limit access and prevent overflow thanks to its many new features. A forced horizontal drop and a counterbalance lid ensure you get the maximum available space while also being able to dispose of items with only one hand. An anti-kickback and shut-off indicator with a "full" sign offers more safety for the user and anyone in or around the container. The kickback doesn't allow objects to escape from the container. A "shut-off" sign and valve do two things for the user: let them know when the container is full and prevent any overfilling. Locking tabs prevent anyone else from attempting to enter the container unsafely. Molded Handles give the ability to lift and place it anywhere in the room and transport it to dispose of. The SharpSafety container can be placed anywhere and be considered out-of-the-way, thanks to its relatively small size.

The SharpSafety is made of 100 percent polypropylene. Once incinerated, the container burns only carbon dioxide and water vapor. It's also autoclavable. The translucent version provides visual access inside of the container, letting you know how full the container is at all times. The red container is still translucent; however, it blocks out some of the views.
