Posey SkinSleeves are non-compression knitted coverings used to protect fragile skin, wound sites, and IV sites. These skin sleeves are manufactured with soft cotton, nylon and spandex 4-way stretch yarn and is adaptable to a wide variety of individuals. The SkinSleeves are latex free. Sizes available include large, medium and small. Gel padded sleeves are also available.
Posey SkinSleeves are available in light or dark tones to blend with the patient's own skin. You may easily adjust the sleeve for the amount of necessary skin protection. Skin Sleeves are used to help prevent the disruption of medical treatment by camouflaging IV and wound areas. Padded SkinSleeves are also available for extra protection (light tone only). The padded Skin Sleeves feature thicker plush pile with pressure absorbing gel pads located under the elbow.

Fitting Guidelines
SkinSleeves are intended to fit as a comfort product. Actual fit will depend on individual anthropometric measurements and patient comfort level. Posey regular SkinSleeves will stretch up to 100% in size(combination of both width and length). Padded sizes have limited stretchability. The higher the degree of stretching, the tighter the fit and the higher amount of compression on the patients skin and muscle. Posey recommends that this product be removed at least every two (2) hours to check for skin integrity, proper circulation and range of motion. Inspect before each use: check for broken stitches or parts; or torn, cut or frayed material; DO NOT use soiled or damaged products.
Arm Application Instructions
- Beginning with upper arm opening, roll inside edge of SkinSleeve outwards; continue to roll until you reach the thumb opening.
- Slip the arm opening of the SkinSleeve over the patient’s hand, fitting the patient’s thumb through the thumb hole.
- Unroll the SkinSleeve back up over the arm. Adjust to desired placement.
- If desired, the patient’s thumb can be removed from the thumb opening and the SkinSleeve “rolled up” on the wrist to uncover the palm.
Leg Application Instructions
- Beginning with upper leg opening, roll inside edge of SkinSleeve outwards until you get within 3 Inch of the toe opening.
- Slip the upper leg opening of the SkinSleeve over the patient’s foot, pulling it up until the heel “crook” of the SkinSleeve fits snugly over the patient’s heel.
- Unroll the SkinSleeve up the leg. Adjust to desired placement.
