Shower Shield Stoma Cover Tracheotomy Laryngectomy Cover Comfortable shield goes on and off in seconds. Unique Velcro fastener offers a perfect fit without tie-backs. Made from lightweight, medically-approved vinyl that remains soft and pliable. (Not for use while swimming).
Ihave used the shower shield and it has kept the water out. I feel it has done the job.

My daughter found the hard material cut into her neck (she is overweight) and prevented her from looking down. Also, the water simply dripped around the shield and into her stoma. She found breathing very difficult with the small holes on the bottom not really allowing in enough air. Maybe it would work for a slim and long neck, but not for anyone with added weight or a shorter neck. Delivery was excellent.

Easy to use
Keeps stoma dry but that's it

The plastic material is much stiffer than graphic appears and it provides no protecton for the trach collar, which gets totallly saturated. Fine if you plan on changing the collar but otherwise uncomfortable. Still searching for better cover.

My wife doesn't have the strength yet to stand in the shower your Stoma cover...it could well be #5 if we could use it. You appear to be a quality company.
very good product

The only negative about this product would be the lack of protection around the back of the neck...some water does dampen the trach collar. But the cover itself is perfect. Very pleased

Shower shield works great. Had to modify it a little to fit around my trach but it was very easy to cut as needed to fit my needs. Beats the heck out of trying to cover up with a shower cap or zip lock bag!
Helps, but not a perfect water tight seal

My husband has ALS, and had a trachostomy. I am his caregiver, and use a hand shower while he is in a shower wheelchair. He uses a ventilator but is able to shower wihtout it. While he showers, we seal the opening to the trach tube with a button, but we still need need to keep the water away from the stoma (opening). The shower shield helps, but it does allow some water through, so we still need to be careful about how we aim the water.
ShowerShield with Rubber Collar – A review
(Posted on 5/2/11)
My doctor advised me to buy this collar. It fits perfectly around my neck. I can wear it in few seconds and I don’t need any help for this. I feel extremely comfortable. The only problem is that I can not use it while swimming.

I'm a Respiratory Therapist at a hosp and saw this used the other day. Wow, I was really impresed. We don't get too many trach patients so we have nothing like this at the hosp. This patients family brought it in. Now I;m going to recomend this one to people.

It's always a problem to hide it from water while taking a shower. It does this tricky job so perfectly. I spend a lot of water for shower but my wound never got wet. it's pretty awesome. Hope you can find the convenience I have now.
