Water Traps
Water Traps are devices that are used to help prevent substances from passing back up through a drainage device of some sort. There are standard sized water traps as well as much more slim, compact versions for shorter term, portable applications. A water trap works by allowing the water inside it to create a seal that prevents condensation or gasses in oxygen tubing from reaching the patient and affecting them adversely. Typically a water trap is made of transparent material so that it can be easily assessed as fluid builds up and replaced in a timely manner.
