PVI Singlefold Portable Wheelchair Ramps Overview
PVI Singlefold Ramps allow wheelchairs and scooters to easily and safely pass over thresholds or access elevated areas. When folded in half, the ramps fit in the trunk of most vehicles. The lightweight design and integrated handle make PVI Singlefold Wheelchair Ramps easy to carry and transport. While the ramps are extremely lightweight for their size, they are each capable of supporting up to 800 pounds (distributed over two axles). Two raised guides on either side of the ramp provide additional safety and prevent the user from accidentally running off the ramp. All the utilized PVI ramp surfaces are covered with a high-traction, extremely durable friction tape that provides a superior nonslip surface even in wet conditions. Choose from three length options:

Ultra-Strong Design and Construction
Every PVI ramp is assembled with welded seams and the highest-quality materials. Each ramp is manufactured with 6005-T5 and 6063-T5 grade aluminum, both of which are high-grade aluminum with excellent strength and durability characteristics. Assembly hardware, such as nuts, bolts, and washers, are made of zinc and therefore inherently resistant to corrosion and rust. A nonslip surface on the ramp is created through the use of high-friction grit tape, which is permanently affixed to the ramp.

What is the ADA-required slope ratio?
The wheelchair ramp must have a 1:12 slope ratio. This means that there must be no more than a 1-inch rise in the ramp for every corresponding 12 inches of the ramp going forward.
Can a ramp be used to load a person into a vehicle?
Yes, providing all of the following criteria are met:
- Since the wheelchair is occupied, the ramp should never exceed a 2:12 slope ratio (for every 2 inches of rise, a foot of ramp will be required).
- Always make sure a qualified assistant is present when using any portable ramp.
- Make sure there is enough head clearance before moving the wheelchair into the van.
- When using a side door, be certain that there is at least 30 inches of clearance side to side in order to accommodate the portable ramp.
What are the ramps made of?
The ramps are made of 6005-T5 and 6063-T5 grade aluminum, both of which are high-grade, exceedingly strong types of aluminum. The walking surface is covered with a very high-grade/high-tack rated adhesive-backed nonslip tape that it is virtually impossible to remove. All of the assembly hardware, like nuts, bolts, and washers, are made of zinc, making them durable and corrosion-free.
What is the surface of the ramp covered with?
The ramps are covered with an extremely durable adhesive-backed nonslip tape. This tape has an extremely high-friction surface and provides secure traction even when wet.
