These two Low Profile Bed models deliver Full Electric Hospital Bed functionality with loads of customizable options -- all at an economical price. They include the high quality welding construction, bariatric weight capacity and adjustability that you might expect from higher-priced beds.
Low Profile Hospital Beds reduce the risk and severity of fall injury for patients with limited mobility, making the beds safer and more comfortable.
Both bed frames can adjust between two different height positions. The low position brings the mattress deck to just 8 inches off of the ground, making them two of the lowest profile beds on the market. The high position brings the mattress deck to a height of 26 inches.
See below for a list of features and specifications that make these two of the most versatile and easy-to-use hospital beds around.

Headboards and Footboards
A headboard and footboard must be purchased separately with the Primus PrimeCare Low Bed. Make sure to match the correct head/footboard width to the width of the bed. 35 inches wide is the default, and 42 inches wide when using a width extension (optional accessory).
The headboards and footboards that we list in the accessories section with this bed are a rectangular shape and are available in either oak or mahogany. For additional head/footboard styles and colors, call us at 1-800-397-5899 for assistance. See Additional Head/Footboard Styles and Colors
Deluxe Bed Frame Bonus Features (model 601):
The Primus Deluxe 601 Bed includes some bonus features not included with the 301 model.
The 601 model comes with an advanced foot pad caster locking system. This advanced system has a larger foot pad mechanism than the standard system. The larger foot pad makes it easier to lock and unlock the bed's caster wheels. You can view what the foot pad looks like in the bed picture at the top of this page.
The 601 model is also compatible with the optional staff control/lockout and the battery backup. These are optional accessory upgrades. The 301 model is not compatible with these optional features, so, if you are interested in either the battery backup or the staff control/lockout, make sure to purchase the 601 bed frame.
Customization OptionsSee below for a list of optional accessories and upgrades that you can use to customize your Primus PrimeCare Low Bed. Each item is sold separately from the bed frame.
Three types of optional assist bars are available for separate purchase with this bed, a fixed assist bar, a rotating assist bar and a rotating assist rail. Each assist bar/rail type is sold individually (not in pairs).
Each bar or rail slides into position and is held in place with a locking pin. They can be quickly installed and removed without the use of tools. Rotating bars and rails rotate between up and down positions.
The bars help patients assist themselves in and out of bed and serve as partial bed rails.
Staff Control/Lockout (601 model only)
The staff control makes it possible for medical workers to enable and disable the functionality of the control pendant at the patient's end of the bed. It also allows workers to control the bed's electronic functions while standing at the foot of the bed.
The staff control is embedded in the bed's footboard. It must be purchased at the same time as the footboard so it can be installed before shipment.
This freestanding trapeze is a great option for patients who need additional assistance when sitting up. It is specifically designed to compliment this bed's design.
As a freestanding model, it can be moved into or out of position whenever needed. It has a weight capacity of 500 pounds.
42 Inch Width Extension
This extension set converts the standard 35 inch wide Primus Low Bed into a 42 inch wide bed, providing some extra elbow room for patients who need it. The kit is easy to install and uninstall with simple hand tools.
Battery Backup with Mount (601 model only)
The battery backup ensures that the bed will still function in the event of a power outage. It is an excellent safety option for medical facilities. It comes with the necessary harware to mount it to the bed.
*Bed is pictured with headboard, footboard and assist rails -- all of which are sold separately from the bed frame. The advanced foot pad caster system pictured with the bed comes standard with the 601 model and is not available with the 301 model.
