CR Bard PowerPICC Solo 2 Pressure Monitoring Catheter System Overview

The PowerPICC Solo 2 Catheter is designed for patients who require frequent needlesticks or who need long-term care. It is a convenient alternative to repeated needle stabs. The cath is inserted by a medical professional into a vein in the arm and threaded into a large vein to the heart. It remains there until treatment is no longer needed. The device has a valve that controls the flow of liquids, negating the need for clamps.

Simplifies Patient Care

The semi-permanent nature of the PowerPICC Solo 2 Pressure monitoring cath negates the need for frequent needlesticks that may cause pain and discomfort for the patient. It allows for patients to administer medication at home, reducing the need for hospital stays. A valve system allows medications and other fluids to be delivered directly to the heart and also allows blood to be drawn more easily. It is available with dual or triple lumens that allow for multiple medications or fluids to be delivered simultaneously.

Indications

  • Chemotherapy medications
  • Frequent medication administration
