Posey Wheelchair Safety Belts

Wheelchair Belts by Posey all use airline style buckles that allow patients to self-release. However, Positioning Belts come in different chair mount options that let you choose the mounting style best for you.

All of these Wheelchair Safety Belts allow one-handed release by the patient. Their polyester webbing makes them suitable for use with shower chairs, and they are completely machine washable. Read about the different belt attachment styles below.

Screw Mounts
Belts with screw mounts attach to the wheelchair with screws. The screws insert through both the belt and the wheelchair seat material where the seat material attaches to the wheelchair frame. This attachment style is ideal when a semi-permanent attachment is needed.

Rear-Removable Buckle
With this mounting style, the belt straps loop around the back frame of the wheelchair and secure into place with slide buckles. Belts are easy to remove with this mounting style for transfer to another chair.

Rear D-Ring Attachment
D-Ring straps loop around the back of the wheelchair frame, loop through a buckle on the front of the belt and then secure by attaching to themselves with snaps. This attachment style also makes it easy to transfer belts from one chair to another.

Rear Loop Attachment
This is the most simple attachment style for these belts. The belt wraps around the entire wheelchair frame once and comes together in the front. It uses tension against the wheelchair frame to stay in place and maintain the desired tightness.
