Strength. Flexibility. Comfort. These are all the things you can find in the Medlift 5500-Series Wall-A-Way Lift Chair.
The Lift Chair starts with a wood frame that is dried using a very uncommon technique. The "kiln-dried" or "oven-dried" wood is then shaped for maximum durability. The wood frame, combined with five No-Sag seat springs, is connected using high-grade bolts and gang nails. The joints are glued together and secured with steel fasteners as well. Combined with the steel-framed base, the Wall-A-Way has the ability to hold up to 375 pounds.
The chair's "Wall-A-Way" name comes from its flexibility to operate under just about any condition. The design of the Wall-A-Way allows it to be placed within just three inches of any wall when fully-reclined. Speaking of positions, the Wall-A-Way has several to choose from. Among them are three seating positions (fully-reclined, TV, and seated) as well as a lifted position for easy standing.
Beyond the wood frame, steel base and multiple positions lies one of the most comfortable lifting-style chairs around. The 5500-Series chair has Medlift's new SoftLuxe Seat Cushion System from Leggett and Platt. The system is constructed with a 7 x 7 x 3.5-inch coil with high-density fortified steel springs. These springs are surrounded by fabric to reduce noise output once tension is applied. The SoftLuxe cushion is designed to break down less often and not "sink" as much as a standard cushion sofa.
The Medlift Wall-A-Way has several standard features, starting with a Chaise Pad for maximum comfort and a fiber filled back for a soft feel. Along with the five no-sag seat springs, the Wall-A-Way 5500-Series also has one low-voltage quiet motor for those moments where you need to stand up. The low volt, quiet motor gives you the freedom to stand up without hearing a loud noise in the process.
The 5500-Series has plenty of room for any person to sit. The seat itself offers over 1,350 square inches of seating space, nearly twice the size of a standard-sized seat in a movie theater. In a full lie-down position the chair measures 69 inches, comfortably accommodating persons between 5-Feet 6-Inches and 6-Feet 4-Inches tall.
All-in-all, the Medlift 5500-Series is comfortable, sturdy, and accommodating for just about anyone that sits in it. The motor is strong enough to lift a person right from sitting to a standing position and is a great choice for anyone who has trouble standing.
These chairs have a lifetime warranty on the wood frame, lift mechanisms and all reclining hardware; and a four-year warranty on all other parts of the chair.
