Kind Removal Tape, manufactured by 3M, is a hypoallergenic silicone blended tape. This Tape is designed to not harm the skin when it is being removed. Most tapes pull the skin and the small hairs, causing unnecessary damage. This Silicone Tape has a patented paper blended backing that allows a gentle, but strong adhesion to the skin that remains constant. Most tapes increase their adhesion over time, which increases the damage when they are removed.
The Kind Removal Tape can be re-positioned without loosing any of its tacky qualities. The gentle adhesion does not lower the quality of the hold either. This Tape is adhesive enough that it can be worn in the shower without loosing effectiveness. This Tape is perfect for using on patients with skin allergies, because 3M engineers their Tapes to be Hypoallergenic.

My name is Debbie. I’m a registered nurse. I’m Erin’s mom and caregiver.
We were going about our normal life two and a half years ago. Erin was 20 and entering her third year at St. Rose going to school to be a high school history teacher. She had a sudden change in behavior, which was sudden in severe OCD. She was no longer able to touch her phone, she couldn’t touch her computer, she wouldn’t touch a silverware. I had to feed Erin and help her with daily living.
With the help of the social worker and with our primary care doctor, they realized that they felt there was an infection in Erin causing a severe an autoimmune reaction that was attacking her brain.
After lots of blood work and lots of medicines he figured out that it was limes and the treatment was long-term antibiotics both oral and eventually IV antibiotics and also immune globulin intravenous that would help reset her immune system that was not working properly.
We started giving her medicine every night. After her medication, she would have to have a set up dressing put over that area and the skin on her chest quickly became very, very raw red and sore. We tried different products, we tried different tapes, we tried paper tape, plastic tape, adhesive tapes and different clear dressings from many different brands to and try get her chest feeling better and nothing worked.
It was quite a challenge and at work one day I did have a package show up on my desk and after opening it I noticed it was a rolled tape that looked different. It was blue. It was soft and I thought I’m going to try it on Erin before I try it here at the center. We tried it again the next night and by the next morning, her skin was clear. There was no raw-red skin and it was the 3M Kind Removal Silicone Tape that worked really great.
We thought well, “Let’s keep trying it. We have used it ever since, and there has been no breakdown of her skin and so we continue to use it.”

Product QuestionsCan the tape be torn by hand or must it be cut with scissors?Question by: J Brosnan on Jul 12, 2017 10:42:00 AMThis tape can be torn by hand and shouldn't require any tools.Answer by: Shain Gillet (Admin) on Oct 4, 2017 9:25:00 AM
Based on your history
I don't know if this is a knock off or if Nexcare started making a cheaper version to sell to medical suppliers. Either way, pay the extra $3 and get it at the drug store.
