Preset Workout Programs
The Endurance E5000 Premium Elliptical Trainer has six preset program modes. Each mode delivers workouts with different intensities, resistance, and tension levels. The six preset programs are:
- Interval Speed Training. This mode provides extreme levels of low and high intensity.
- Interval Mountain Training. In this mode, the machine simulates interval training through difficult mountain settings.
- Interval. In interval mode, this program simulates interval training through two hill profiles.
- Mountain. This is one of the more difficult preset programs the Body-Solid Endurance E5000 Elliptical has to offer. This mode simulates what someone might feel on a real mountain course by gradually increasing resistance levels and then dropping it back down to the starting point.
- Hill. Resistance changes are lesser in this program, taking users through two hill profiles that are ideal for those looking for a lower-impact workout.
- Random. Each time this mode is selected, it generates a new program profile. This keeps workouts fresh by choosing an exercise session at random; however, programs can still be adjusted if this mode is not to the user's liking.
Heart Rate Control Features
This physical therapy recumbent exercise bike comes with five HRC programs, heart rate contacts, and a heart rate control chest strap. The chest strap delivers information to the machine for better monitoring and evaluation. The heart rate control programs alter the resistance levels to keep the heart at a predetermined rate. The five HRC programs are:
- HR 80%. This program offers a high-intensity workout. It keeps the heart rate at 80% of the maximum heart rate by adjusting the resistance levels.
- HR Hill (65-75-85%). This mode simulates hill training. While this mode is selected, it with change the Target Heart Rate through three different percentages and goes as follows: 65% - 75% - 85% - 75% - 65% -75% - 85%. Each percentage is held for a total of three minutes and will continue to sequence throughout the duration of the workout.
- HR 65%. In this mode, the Target Heart Rate is maintained at 65% of the Maximum Heart Rate. The machine automatically adjusts the resistance levels to accomplish this goal.
- HR Hill Interval. The HR Hill Interval program is a great fat-burning and cardiovascular exercise mode. It's designed to alternate between 65% and 85% of the user's Max HR and holds each percentage for four minutes.
- Target Heart Rate. This is the most customizable Target Heart Rate mode. With this mode, users decide what they want their maximum heart rate percentage to be regulated at during the duration of their exercise. Users can choose between 50% to 85%.
