Asta Cath Female Catheter Guides, manufactured by A+ Medical, are female Catheter Supplies for self-catheterization. These catheter guides are helpful, because they assist women in locating the correct pathway during intermittent catheterization. Missing this pathway could be painful or damaging.

Use the Asta Cath for intermittent catheters that are 16 French or smaller. Larger catheters will not fit properly in the alignment holes. These Catheter guides are suitable for most women, because they feature three holes, so that they account for anatomical differences.

These female catheter guides are easy to use and easy to clean. A+ Medical manufactures urinary supplies such as unisex urinals and catheter supplies. To use the Asta Cath, insert the bent end into the vagina and use the alignment hole to guide in the catheter. Each catheter guide is sealed in plastic for sanitary usage. These Asta Cath catheter guides come complete with instructions.

Self catheterization can be used while sitting on the toilet or while standing. Only use self-catheterization under the direction of a doctor. The Asta Cath catheter guide is designed as a tool to assist catheterization and not as a substitution for a doctor’s instruction.

This is a LifeSaver!
I have Multiple Sclerosis and was devastated when I had to start self-catheterizing. I was terrified of doing this and my Mother had to do it for me. However, once I got over the fear, I realized that I needed to do this myself for my own independence sake. However, I could not do it. I was no longer afraid and I understood the procedure. But, I could not logistically make it happen. I felt that if I had a 3rd arm...I could do it. But, the nurses were not helpful in the training. They train you in a special seat with stirrups and they hold the mirror. But, I do not have a stirrup seat and a nurse in my bathroom...when I found this product, I was very encouraged. It was not a home run right away. It still took some practice. I find that it is easier to "thread" the catheter in the device before inserting it and putting it in place. But after 3 or 4 attempts...I figured out how close I had to hold the Asta-Cath to me and the upward angle you have to use with the cath. Now, I do this by myself every time. Every Urologist office should have a drawer of these and hand them out to new patients! I cannot give this more stars! Should have 10!
This device is a LIFESAVER and should be given to everyone new to Catheterization
I have MS and was devastated when I was told I would have to start self-catheterizing. I was terrified and my Mother had to do it for me. When I got over my fear, I realized I needed to do this for myself so that I could feel independent again. Although I understood perfectly the theory…I could not grasp the execution of it. The nurses were of little help because they trained you in a special chair with stirrups (that you do not have in your own home) and by holding the mirror for you (nope…they are not in my bathroom when I need them). I felt like I needed a third hand…and the AstaCath turned out to be my 3rd hand! It was not a homerun right away…it did take a few attempts and failures to find the correct hole and to remember to aim up not straight in. I learned how far you had to press the Asta Cath in…and that it was much easier for me to “thread” the cath into the correct hole before inserting the AstaCath. I think I now have it figured out and have had 3 successes for the last 3 attempts! I truly feel that if they gave these out in the Dr’s offices when a patient is prescribed self-catheterization….that much of the fear, humiliation, and failures would be avoided.
Almost perfect
This tool is just what I needed! I only have one wrist that works but has no grip. This now allows me to self cath. The only complaint I have is I wish they were more sturdy. While learning how to use this I broke two in a week. They work great but I always keep a back-up on hand now!
This is an unbelievable product and I am so grateful to the person who designed it! It has made self-catheterization very simple and successful. Once I located the correct hole for me in the device, I hot-glued two small beads on the other holes and that REALLY helps me to locate the right spot with my fingers. I would highly recommend this product to any woman who needs to self-cath.
This promotes independence.
For so long I only used diapers because I don't know anyone who knows how to insert a catheter. So when a friend recommended this and told me that I could insert it myself, I tried it. It was indeed easy to learn how to insert it. The shape and design really allows easy self insertion.
