DermaRite Xeroform Dressing and When to Use It

Sterile Xeroform fine mesh gauze dressing is infused with petrolatum and 3% Xeroform (bismuth tribromophenate). This non-adhesive gauze dressing for wound care is intended for minimal- to low-output exudate wounds. Xeroform dressings both decrease the dressing's perviousness and help to maintain a moist healing environment.

Ideal for low- to non-exuding wounds like burns, abrasions, donor sites, lacerations, and skin graft sites, DermaRite’s Xeroform Gauze Dressing offers soothing wound care to aid healing. This occlusive dressing prevents air from reaching wounds. The non-stick surface is soothing and comforting against the skin and the formula provides bacteriostatic protection. Sterile, latex-free, cool-feel Xeroform gauze dressings cling and contour to the body without being adherent, which makes changing dressings more comfortable for patients.

Available in Several Sizes to Accommodate Many Wounds

Xeroform petrolatum dressings are available at Vitality Medical in several different sizes to accommodate a wide range of wound shapes and sizes, including 1” x 8”, 2” x 2”, 4” x 4”, and 5” x 9” options. An additional wound band will be needed to hold the Xeroform gauze in place. Change and replace daily (or as indicated by a medical professional) to maintain the moist healing environment that is needed for best results.
