The sucrose solution is made up of 24 percent sucrose and purified water. The sucrose (table sugar) is natural and is able to reduce the pain and discomfort of the infant. The 2 mL vial has no preservatives and is small enough to provide the proper dosage to an infant's tongue. It also has other ways of application such as using a pacifier or applying on the area between the cheek and gum. The vials are great for use in a hospital, nursery, NICU, PICU, ER or a pediatrician's office.
