SAF-Q Subcutaneous Infusion Set Overview
SAF-Q Subcutaneous Infusion Set streamlines the process of infusing medicine from a syringe or pump with advanced design features that safeguard patients. The set includes easy-to-use attachment sites to connect syringes with medicine. Patented metal wings promote clinician and patient safety by confining the needle. This system limits the risk of accidental puncture and encourages better hygiene. The set also includes translucent wings to guide the placement of the infusion site, providing stability. The needles are coated with Soft-Glide coating technology to decrease pain and tissue damage. These features boost patient comfort during the infusion process.
Subcutaneous Infusion Sets (SAF-Q) include needles with coating, flexible 36-inch tubing, site dressing, translucent wings for placement, and a female luer for easy connections. Choose between an assortment of gauges and needle lengths.

How To Use
EMED Subcutaneous Infusion Sets are intended for single-use to avoid infection. Use aseptic techniques to ensure patient and technician safety. Twenty-nine pounds per square inch of internal pressure is recommended.
Inserting
- Wash hands
- Remove the adhesive tape from the needle tubes
- Load syringe with the medicine
- Disconnect the luer cap
- Fasten the syringe to the SAF-Q
- Prime set
- Choose insertion site
- Disinfect the infusion area with a disinfectant
- Detach the wing protector/needle guard
- Grasp the set by the wings to expose the needle
- Pinch skin to expand subcutaneous layer and insert the needle
- Repeat steps 7 to 11 with other needles in the set
- Perform infusion
Removing Set
- A. Remove the dressings
- B. Grasp wings and pull the needle up
- C. Carefully press the wings together
- D. Dispose
