Profore MultiLayer Compression Wrap - 66020016

The Smith & Nephew Profore Mulit-Layer Compression Bandaging System (Profore 66020016) is designed specifically for venous leg ulcers, providing them with the necessary graduated compression without being bedridden during the healing process. Profore Compression Bandage allows for the convenience of mobility which is not often an option. Life doesn't have to stop for a leg ulcer. The bandage does contain natural rubber latex and should not be used on those who may have allergies or sensitivities to the material.

The unique multi-layer system has four distinct layers that all serve a unique purpose for the healing of the leg ulcer. The first layer is a contact layer that serves as padding against the wound and absorbs any exudate that comes out during compression and healing. The second layer is also for absorption and also serves as padding against bony prominences that may damage tissue during compression.

The third layer of the Muli-Layer Profore Compression Wrap provides the actual compression. It provides a standard compression. If a lighter compression layer is needed, Profore Lite Reduced-Compression Bandaging System is available as well. As a warning, wrapping should not continue once the bandage has reached the top of the leg in order to use all of the compression wrap. The wrap should be cut to ensure the compression level is not too high. The last layer is self-adhesive that both applies compression and then seals the system in place. Once applied, the system can stay in place for up to one week.
