Description
Regalo Bed Rail Overview
Regalo Hide Away Bed Rails are specifically designed to protect children or toddlers by not letting them fall out of bed due to rapid movement. Manufactured out of steel, the Regalo bed rail bar has three length options to choose from; keeping children safe while sleeping. The 43-inch model (Regalo 4010HD) is available in both a Standard model and Double Sided bed rail model (Regalo 6010HD), giving you the ultimate choice in how to set up bed safety. The Regalo Extra Long Bed Rail (Regalo 5010HD) is 56-inches long and adds a little more length and can fit easily underneath a queen-sized mattress. The XL Hideaway Bed Rail 56-inch model is extra wide in order to fit longer beds or accommodate sleepers who move around a lot. WThe Regalo Rail comes in a standard white color and the cover is completely machine washable. The rail does not require any tools for assembly and is certified by the JPMA. It also meets the standards set by the ASTM.
Safety studies regarding injuries to children find that "Falls [are] the leading cause of injury, and the head was the most frequently injured body part."1 Innovations to help prevent fall injuries to children from falling out of bed include bedside safety bars. Bed rails "are products with a vertical panel that rests against the side of the bed to prevent children from falling out of adult-sized beds."2 The design or the bed rails are to help prevent falls from bed and to prevent entrapment or entanglement with the safety rail device. Fabric covers the durable, all metal frame of the rails to prevent entrapment. The frame extends under the mattress and above the box springs to secure them to the bed. Each Regalo rail can be tucked away under the bed after usage thanks to their Glide Trac System, easily allowing your child to hop out of bed. Each Regalo bed rail can fit under a mattress up to 20 inches thick and is able to extend to either 43 or 56 inches, depending on the rail model.

Product Dimensions
Product Indications
- For use with children between the ages of 2 and 7 years.
- For use with children who roll out of bed, falling to the floor.
Product Contraindications
- Do not use these safety rails with children younger than 2-years old. Use only with children who are 2-years and older who can get in and out of an adult bed without assistance. A study published in JAMA discusses numerous "dangers associated with placing children younger than 2 years to sleep in adult beds."3 It is best to keep this age group in cribs until 2-years old or until they start climbing out of the crib.
- Do not use these rails on a bunk bed, water bed, inflatable mattress bed, or on a toddler bed.
Product Cautions
- Use this product only on adult-size beds ranging from twin to queen size.
- Use the rail only with a box spring and mattress combination.
- Do not attempt to use two separate bed rails (4010 or 5010) on a single bed. These two-bed rails will not function properly in an attempt to double them and maybe a safety hazard. A bed requiring bed rails on both sides of a single bed should use the Regalo Double Sided Bed Rail (6010).
- Do not use these rails in place of a crib.
- Do not use unless the bed rail is tight against the mattress. There should be no gaps between the rail and the mattress. There must be a gap of at least 9-inches between the headboard and footboard.
