PurAmino DHA & ARA Formula is lactose-free and offers an amino acid-based formulation to meet the dietary needs of infants and toddlers who have a severe cows milk allergy. The specialized powder formula also meets the dietary needs of infants with multiple food protein allergies or children who require an elemental diet.

PurAmino DHA and ARA infant formula are metabolically comprehensive, with a mixture of essential and nonessential amino acids. This formulation closely imitates human milk with similar levels of decosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (ARA), nutrients shown to promote brain and eye development. PurAmino hypoallergenic infant formula is iron-fortified for brain and nervous system development. This baby formula offers a sole source of nutrition for infants up to six months and a major source of nutrition through 24 months. A physician may determine whether extended use of PurAmino powder is appropriate.

Does PurAmino need to be prepared with boiled water?
Consult with a pediatrician if there are preparation concerns. The powder formula is not sterile. It should not be fed to premature infants or infants with an immune problem unless directed by a doctor.

How long can an opened can of Nutramigen PurAmino formula be stored?
After opening, use the contents within a month.

Are babies allergic to Puramino hypoallergenic formula?
It is rare to have an allergy to this formula. The only common allergen in the formula is soy oil.

Can Nutramigen PurAmino powder cause constipation?
An amino acid-based formula absorbs differently and may cause babies to poop less than traditional cows milk formulas. Parents should contact the pediatrician for any constipation concerns.

Can PurAmino 400g prepared formula be warmed?
Mix with warm water, but do not use a microwave to warm the formula as a serious burn may result.

Does PurAmino hypoallergenic infant formula 14.1 oz require a prescription?
