The border surrounds its highly absorbent foam layer designed to quickly take in wound exudate. The retention layer then manages exudate by spreading it evenly to effectively retain moisture and reduce the risk of skin maceration.

Mepilex Border 4 x 10 Inch Foam Dressing creates a large rectangular surface area to protect wider wound types, including ulcers. While in place, it even has been shown to prevent pressure ulcers due to its ability to reduce shear and friction and redistributing pressure. Its outside waterproof layer adds a protective barrier from external bacteria and moisture to support longer wear-time, up to seven days.
