MEDIHONEY , with Active Leptospermum Honey, is the global leading brand of honey-based wound care dressings that help to provide an optimal moist wound healing environment. MEDIHONEYs osmotic potential provides fast, effective, and continual debridement of the wound bed while the low pH of MEDIHONEY helps to lower the overall pH levels of chronic and stalled wounds.
Absorbs light to moderate amounts of exudates.
As wound exudate is absorbed, the dressing which has a low pH and high osmolarity forms a gel.
Helps maintain moist environment, aids in autolytic debridement and allows for non-traumatic removal.
Not made with natural rubber latex.
Packaged: 10 Per Box, 10 Boxes Per Case

Why Use Medihoney (2:31 Minutes)
Medihoney is the global leading line of medical grade honey products for the management of wounds and burns. Derived from the Leptospermum species of plant in New Zealand, Medihoney has a unique phytochemical composition that has been studied and proven to offer versatility and clinical effectiveness throughout all phases of wound healing, for routine and challenging wounds. Medihoney aids and supports the autolytic debridement and the healing of wounds by two mechanisms of action – Low pH and high osmolarity. A wound bed may have slough eschar and an elevated pH. When applied, Medihoney’s natural low pH helps to lower the pH within the wound environment, providing a pathway for the body’s natural processes to move the wound towards healing. Medihoney’s high-sugar and low-water content acts like an osmotic engine, facilitating the movement of fluid from the deeper tissues to the wound surface. The fluid bathes the wound, softening and liquefying the slough & eschar, thus aiding and supporting autolytic debridement. Together, the low pH and high osmolarity of Medihoney aids the body’s natural processes to cleanse away necrotic tissue and advance the wound toward healing. Medihoney helps to support healing of acute and chronic wounds and maintains its effectiveness for up to seven days. Medihoney is gamma irradiated for sterility and is available in several dressing formats that enable easy and efficient application for a broad spectrum of wound characteristics. Medihoney dressings promote moist wound healing and aid autolytic debridement. This full line of products provides care providers with versatility and clinical effectiveness throughout all phases of wound healing for routine and challenging wounds.
